Sharma Shari is a photographer, artist and media theorist. In 2004, she graduated as a computer engineer in one of the top universities in Puerto Rico. It took her three years working as an engineer to understand that the cubicle life was not for her. She packed her bags and move to Atlanta to pursue a Master in Fine Arts in Photography. She received her Masters from Savannah College of Arts and Design. During this time, she learned how to convey what she was feeling into an image and a theory. Her personal works deals with the notion of the other through the duality of being Puerto Rican and American. Among her achievements are being finalist of Nikon’s 29th and 30th Annual College Photography Contest for the Photography’s Forum Magazine and the Audience Choice Award in the 15 minute of fame talk at the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts.
After moving to Florida in 2009, she decided to venture into wedding and commercial photography working for companies as Google and Walt Disney Parks. She cater to couples and clients that are non traditional, geeky and like to their weddings their way. She currently lives in South Florida and has joined the team of instructors of the Miami Photo Center.
